Business education lateral entry

The following information concerns applicants of the Master's degree programme in Business Education who have already completed their studies, but who do not meet the six admission categories (B1-B3; Z1-Z3).

If you do not meet the requirements specified in the admission categories, you cannot directly enter the Hohenheim Master's degree programme in Business Education, but you have the option of further qualification within the Bachelor's degree programme in Business Education (cross-entry). With recognizable achievements from your pre-study studies, you can enter a higher semester of the Bachelor's degree program.

There are basically two options for the recognition of your pre-study achievements (individual recognition & flat-rate recognition). Which variant is possible for you depends on the extent of the economics part of your previous degree program. The composition of your ECTS from certain areas (relationship of business administration, economics, law and methodological foundations) is decisive here [1].

If you meet the requirements of the different economic modules, you have the choice between both variants: the standard recognition and the individual recognition. If your previous degree programme does not meet this requirement, only individual recognition is possible for you.

[1] The examination and decision are subject to the Admissions Committee or, in the case of recognition, to the Examination Committee.

You have to choose one of the applications. A preliminary examniation is not possible!

The procedure for transverse entry is as follows:

     1.

You apply for the higher semester of the Bachelor of Economics and Business Education and submit an application for recognition of the achievements of the previous study.

     2.

Within the bachelor's program, you make up for missing achievements.

     3.

You then apply for the Master in Business Education
(always only possible for the winter semester).
