You do not have to register for the profile studies.
Depending on the profile area, there are information events at the beginning of the semester - especially in theology, which you should attend.
Profile subjects at the University of Hohenheim
You attend the courses you have chosen and register regularly via Hohcampus for the corresponding exams in the profile area. After passing the first exam, you are automatically registered for the profile area.
Profile subjects at the University of Stuttgart
You participate in the courses as a kind of guest auditor, which means that you are not additionally enrolled in Stuttgart. Therefore, you do not have to pay double tuition fees.
It is possible to change the profile area once if necessary. To do so, you must contact the examination office. You will find more information on this below.
Profile subjects at the University of Hohenheim
The events all take place at the University of Hohenheim. You can see the location of the institute on the respective flyer.
EXCEPTION: In the profile area History and Political Science, isolated elective events take place at the University of Stuttgart. Please pay attention to the respective location in the event description.
Profile subjects at the University of Stuttgart
The courses in German and English take place at the campus in the city center.
The events in sports and mathematics take place at the campus in Vaihingen.

Profile subjects of the University of Hohenheim
No separate registration is required for lectures. Registration may be required for exercises and seminars. Information on this will be provided in good time by the respective lecturer and on the homepage of the respective institute / chair.
Profile subjects at the University of Stuttgart
For most courses at the University of Stuttgart, registration via ILIAS is mandatory. Since the registration deadlines for the courses often end before the semester begins, you should definitely register early for the respective courses in ILIAS or directly with the respective lecturers in order to still get a place in the desired course.

Let your lecturer know that you want to participate as a Hohenheim student. He/she will then activate the course so that you can click on the respective folder and join the course.
Please note: First-come, first-served" applies to registrations. Since some of the courses in Stuttgart are quite small, the courses fill up correspondingly quickly. However, there are also double registrations, i.e. if you don't get a place in a course and are on place X of the waiting list, you can visit the start of the course after consulting the respective course instructor and see if students have dropped out and thus a place in the course has become free (definitely try!).

Registration for all examinations takes place via HohCampus (Hohenheim Examination Office). The procedure may differ for coursework (e.g. seminars). Please contact the respective contact person of the seminar to find out how to register
Profile subjects at the University of Stuttgart
In the case of coursework, please inform the lecturer that you would like to take part in the exam.
For examinations, you must also register at the examination office at the University of Hohenheim. The examinations do not take place in a central PZR, but are usually set individually by the respective lecturers. Often this concerns the last week of lectures. In order to avoid overlaps, you should ask the lecturer in good time about the examination dates.
For achievements at the University of Stuttgart, you will receive a certificate of achievement if you pass the exam. You can pick up the certificate from the respective professor or in the respective rooms and bring it to the SIZ in Hohenheim. Please refer to the institutes' websites to find out where and when the Schein will be issued. The grades will then be posted online in the Hohenheim grade book.
What should be on my bill in any case?
For all designations/codes, please always check in advance with the curriculum that is relevant to you. For successful posting, the ticket should contain the following information:
- Number of semester hours
- Correct course name, correct module name
- Module code
- Date as close as possible to the date of examination registration
- Stamp of the University of Stuttgart
- Signature of the respective lecturer/professor/head of program
For your own safety, we recommend that you pick up and submit bills as promptly as possible. In addition, you should always keep a copy of your bill.
Note: If the module grades are made up of several partial examinations, you must first collect the individual performance certificates independently. The module grade will then be calculated after submission to the respective institute and the LP for the modules concerned will be confirmed. These confirmations can then be handed in at the examination office in Hohenheim.

As with all other profile subjects, there may be overlaps. However, since all courses take place in Hohenheim, care is taken to ensure that there are no conflicts as far as possible.
Profile subjects of the University of Stuttgart
Since there are no agreements between the University of Hohenheim and the University of Stuttgart, there may be conflicts between the courses of the two universities. It is not advisable to neglect the courses at one of the two universities, so please plan a little more time for your profile area (as described above). Some of the courses at the University of Stuttgart are optional, so you can avoid overlaps.
Pay attention to any attendance requirements that may exist.

You must take at least one seminar. There are several options for the seminar to be completed (see study plan) - it can also be replaced by a Humboldt-Reloaded project, among others (see the project page and make sure that this Humboldt seminar offered is recognized for your profile subject).
Depending on the profile area specialization, two seminars can also be credited. However, in order for two seminars to be credited, the courses attended must be a profile seminar and a project seminar (Humboldt reloaded).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the person responsible for the profile area listed in the information flyer.
By passing the first module performance, you signal to the examination office that you have chosen the corresponding profile area.
Yes, the profile area can be changed once. Details are regulated by the respective examination regulations. For this you have to contact the examination office (pa-wiwi@verwaltung.uni-hohenheim.de) directly.
Yes, in principle you can also specialize in two profile areas. However, experience has shown that a double major leads to an extension of study time of at least 2 semesters due to the increased workload. Furthermore, you must decide to have one profile area listed on your main transcript. The achievements of the second profile area will then automatically be shown on the additional account, the components of which do not count in the grade point average.
Note: If you are pursuing the teaching profession with one major and two minors, a reduced number of credits is sufficient for the second minor. More details must be discussed with the respective regional council.
