Profile subjects at the University of Stuttgart

For most courses at the University of Stuttgart, registration via ILIAS is mandatory. Since the registration deadlines for the courses often end before the semester begins, you should definitely register early for the respective courses in ILIAS or directly with the respective lecturers in order to still get a place in the desired course.

Where can I find the ILIAS courses at the University of Stuttgart?

Magazine > homepage > offers from other universities > offers from other universities from WS 2019_20 > Universität Stuttgart

Here you will find an overview of all available courses, sorted by semester and department.

Let your lecturer know that you want to participate as a Hohenheim student. He/she will then activate the course so that you can click on the respective folder and join the course.

Please note: First-come, first-served" applies to registrations. Since some of the courses in Stuttgart are quite small, the courses fill up correspondingly quickly. However, there are also double registrations, i.e. if you don't get a place in a course and are on place X of the waiting list, you can visit the start of the course after consulting the respective course instructor and see if students have dropped out and thus a place in the course has become free (definitely try!).

In the case of coursework, please inform the lecturer that you would like to take part in the exam.

For examinations, you must also register at the examination office at the University of Hohenheim. The examinations do not take place in a central PZR, but are usually set individually by the respective lecturers. Often this concerns the last week of lectures. In order to avoid overlaps, you should ask the lecturer in good time about the examination dates.

For achievements at the University of Stuttgart, you will receive a certificate of achievement if you pass the exam. You can pick up the certificate from the respective professor or in the respective rooms and bring it to the SIZ in Hohenheim. Please refer to the institutes' websites to find out where and when the Schein will be issued. The grades will then be posted online in the Hohenheim grade book.

What should be on my bill in any case?

For all designations/codes, please always check in advance with the curriculum that is relevant to you. For successful posting, the ticket should contain the following information:

  • Number of semester hours
  • Correct course name, correct module name
  • Module code
  • Date as close as possible to the date of examination registration

Note: If the module grades are made up of several partial examinations, you must first collect the individual performance certificates independently. The module grade will then be calculated after submission to the respective institute and the LP for the modules concerned will be confirmed. These confirmations can then be handed in at the examination office in Hohenheim.

Furthermore, you must decide to have one profile area listed on your main transcript. The achievements of the second profile area will then automatically be shown on the additional account, the components of which do not count in the grade point average.
